Sagarmatha Gurkha/Nepalese Community Ashford Kent (SGNCAK), managed to raise £1,397.62 and hand over the fund to the Family Food Bank Ashford at 14.00 hours on Friday, 18 December 2020.
The Community would, normally, collect food and hand them over in boxes during the festive season of Christmas every year.
Due to the COVID-19 lockdown, the Community took different approach and appealed their members for online donation. Based on the advice and suggestion from some of the members of the community, the Community collected the donation online in monetary form which turned out to be amazingly effective.
The fund was handed over by the Chairperson, Mr Chakrabahadur Rai, to the managers of the Family Food Back, Mr Tony Barnard and Mrs Emma White.
“It means a lot to us and thank you to the Community and each individual for their help and support.”, the managers added.
The Chairperson of the Community, Mr Chakrabahadur Rai, wished to convey his heartfelt gratitude to every individual for their help, support, and for their participation for the good cause which would mean lots for those who were in disadvantaged position during the festive season of the Christmas.
