Representative attend service of thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral (London)

Representatives of the Sagarmatha Gurkha/Nepalese Community Ashford, Kent (SGNCAK) attended the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Gerald Dawson Clarkson, CBE OStJ QFSM BA (Hons) on Thursday, 1 October 2026, at the Chapel of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, St Paul’s Cathedral, London.

The six representatives — Mohan Limbu (Chairperson), Ram Prasad Limbu (General Secretary), Dammar Singhak (Chief Advisor), Chakrabahadur Rai (Director PPWC), Bhismaraj Gurung (Engr Liaison Officer PPWC) and Kaprasad Chhantyal (Advisor) – departed from Dover Place, Ashford, at 10.30 hrs to attend the service, which commenced at 14.00 hrs.

The Community’s attendance was also made possible through the kind liaison and coordination of Cllr Peter Feacey, who has maintained a close relationship with the local Nepalese community and has served as an important liaison between the Nepalese community and the wider local community and authorities in Ashford. His continued support and engagement with SGNCAK have been greatly valued over the years.

The Service of Thanksgiving brought together family, friends, colleagues and representatives from various organisations to remember and honour the life, distinguished service and contribution of the late Gerald Dawson Clarkson.

SGNCAK was honoured to be represented at this solemn and meaningful occasion and to join others in paying its respects and celebrating his life and legacy.
